Lush Bristol relocates to Cabot Circus with double shop size
This Good Friday, 7th April 2023 at 12pm, fresh handmade cosmetics brand Lush will reveal the new look of its Bristol shop with a relocation from Broadmead shopping centre to Cabot Circus. Lush Bristol will expand to double the size of the original shop with a retail area of 164 sqm.
“For more than a decade, I’ve proudly worked within our small but mighty shop on Bristol’s high street and am thrilled to be able to offer an enhanced customer experience with our beautiful new space in Cabot Circus. We want to bring our ‘small shop energy’ that our customers know and love into a broader space of fresh, handmade innovations with more room to offer experiences. I’ve been so proud to serve this community, and I’m excited to see it grow.”
– Rebecca Grundy, Lush Bristol Shop Manager
Rebecca started working for Lush 11 years ago and has been a Lush shop manager for 9 years:
“I started as a Christmas temp, never knowing it would lead me into management but I’m so glad it did. I loved the progression and development, and the lovely connections I made along the way! I always envisaged myself being a teacher, went to uni to do just that until I realised I can teach as part of this role too.”
Continuing to invest in the high street
Lush is committed to continuing investment in the high streets and providing innovation to showcase the 5* customer service experience. In 2023 Lush will make a retail investment approximately £6.1m for new shops, relocations and refits across the UK&I and Europe.
The Bristol retail experience highlights categories of iconic Lush inventions from the 1980s including the shampoo bar and the bath bomb, as well as a section with an array of ethical gifts for Easter. There will also be dedicated space for personal, bespoke Lush skincare consultations as well as a Perfume bar to discover Lush’s new Home fragrance range.
Lush Parties
The additional space allows Lush Bristol to offer more of their popular fresh, handmade customisable parties with new exclusive products.
Reducing, Reusing, Recycling
Alongside some new furniture produced from ethically sourced and durable materials, Lush Bristol will have upcycled furniture as well. Countertops and surfaces on the shop floor are supplied by Smile Plastics – their decorative surface panels are a step towards a comprehensive circular economy and closed-loop material cycle.
When fitting their shops, Lush utilise the same values they do when sourcing ingredients for their products:
“I wanted to create an experience that speaks to the customer on a deeper level. Our products are already visually stunning so for the store layout I focussed on something both functional and meaningful. Bringing our customers to a place where they feel inspired and energised. It’s all about translating Lush’s ethics into a physical space that embodies our values and messages through design and materials being used.”
-Gui Figueiredo, Lush Shop and Space Planning
Lush Bristol customers love to Bring It Back!
Lush Bristol is not only looking forward to welcoming their customers back, but also welcoming their plastic packaging back! As part of Lush’s mission to ‘Leave the world Lusher than we found it’, Lush shops are inviting customers to bring back any full-sized Lush plastic packaging to their local Lush shop to be recycled as part of their fresh new packaging returns scheme, Bring It Back.
For each plastic Lush item returned, customers will receive a 50p deposit to spend on their Lush basket that day.The returned packaging will then be sent to the Green Hub, Lush’s UK recycling hub, where packaging is processed and sent to our UK partners to be remoulded into new black Lush pots or used as industry feedstock material.
In the last 6 months Lush Bristol have had over 6,500 items of Lush packaging returned. This is approx. 156 kg plastic!
