Cocoa Butter hand and body lotion … butter up your skin!

Crack open a tub and you’ll soon see why it caught on.  An elegant, simple cocoa butter formula that’s expertly balanced to give just the right level of slip and absorption.  Our organic, Fair Trade cocoa butter supports smallholder farmers and local communities and it’s a beautiful emollient that helps to lock in moisture. Perfected with a nostalgic fragrance, this product is quite simply a classic.

Body Butters

If you didn’t use body butter, were you even there for the ‘90s? It’s one of the many iconic products that made The Body Shop a high street phenomenon.

Lush Co-Founder and Product Inventor Helen Ambrosen has many treasured memories of friendships and products forged from this happy, hectic time. “Body butters really became a genre!” she recalls. “Back in the day, they were invented by the Lush co-founders and our colleague Cosmetic Scientist Stan Krysztal but found a home elsewhere. So, it’s fitting that they are coming back to where they started.”

Massage into dry skin after washing, paying extra attention to dry areas. We’ve steamed these butters so that they break down easily on the skin, enabling water to be absorbed, while a layer of butters and oils seal in moisture.

Olive body butter
£22.00 each

This expertly balanced blend of virgin olive oil, fresh lemon and murumuru butter will leave you feeling soft and dewy.  We use virgin olive oil from Marda Permaculture Farm: a longstanding partner in Marda, West Bank that we’ve worked with since 2013, whilst the murumuru butter comes from Candela: a social enterprise based in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon that supports local and indigenous producers.

Coconut body butter
£22.00 each

A supremely creamy butter, made with over 10% coconut ingredients that your skin will lap up.  A triple whammy of coconut makes this butter special: luxurious coconut oil, coconut creamed with glycerine into a nutrient-rich skincare smoothie, and a freshly prepared infusion made from the delicate flesh of the fruit.  This beautiful ingredient comes via a supplier that supports sea turtle conservation programmes in the Aceh region of Indonesia.

Brazilliant body butter
£22.00 each

A richly softening treat of a butter, made with Brazil nut oil, aloe vera and avocado oil to lavish dry skin and leave it smooth and fragrant.  This recipe is rich in Brazil nut oil, known for its high content of unsaturated fatty acids and vitamin E, plus reputed antioxidant qualities. We source our Brazil Nut oil from Candela: a social enterprise based in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon that’s reforesting Brazil nut forests and supporting families in Madre de Dios.  Lightly fragranced with uplifting sweet orange to perfect the tropical effect.
