#LUSHXASTEROIDCITY

Ever wanted to feel like you’re stepping onto a Wes Anderson film set?

Well, here’s your chance!  Lush is collaborating with Focus Features to bring Londoners an Asteroid City pop-up this summer!

Open for five weeks from Thursday 8th June, the Lush X Asteroid City gift shop will arrive at Lush Studio in Soho, London a week before the collection launches anywhere else and – just in time for the summer – it’ll be giving away free slushies!

The pop-up is in celebration of filmmaker Wes Anderson’s latest film Asteroid City from Focus Features and Indian Paintbrush, with a four-piece Lush collection featuring a themed bath bomb, soap, shower gel and shower jelly. In immutable Lush fashion, key elements from the movie will be brought to life in soapy form, allowing fans to bring a hint of the Anderson magic into their bathroom.

A must-visit destination for fans, the pop-up is a pastel-coloured cafe inspired by the filmmaker’s iconic style, with photo opportunities galore.

The pop-up Asteroid City gift shop will be open Monday to Friday (closed at weekends) from 12pm – 6pm until Wednesday 12th July.*** update (12.07.23) closed earlier on Tuesday 11th July due to product selling out

“Asteroid City” takes place in a fictional American desert town circa 1955, when the itinerary of a Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention is spectacularly disrupted by world-changing events.

“The vibrant aesthetic of Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City really inspired us to create a fun, nostalgic range of products packed full of benefit-led ingredients like exfoliating sand and cooling aloe vera. We loved that we could bring back our Space Girl fragrance as this is a fan favourite and it fits so well with the storytelling of the movie. We’re also excited to offer customers a real life experience in London and Vegas – where we have created retail spaces inspired by the movie. This is a very limited exclusive range that will only be available for a short period, however we will have our Vegas location selling this product exclusively for 12 months. It will be worth a visit!”

The Collection

Long-time Lush fans will be over the moon to hear the brand’s iconic Space Girl fragrance will be coming out of the archives to scent the Asteroid Bath Bomb and Asteroid City Shower Gel.

Asteroid Bath Bomb (£6 / €7.50)

Every year the residents of Asteroid City celebrate Asteroid Day, the date in 3007 BC when the Arid Plains meteorite crashed into the desert, leaving behind nothing but a crater and stardust.

Now, fresh from the lesser moon of the hypothetical planet Magnavox-27, fans can commemorate the day in the comfort of their own tubs, as this Asteroid Bath Bomb makes impact with bath water. Conjuring ethereal bath art of purple, blue, red, and silver, and blending grapefruit and bergamot oils together, this orbital entity has a sweet, playful, and nostalgic blackcurrant fragrance that brings outer space into the bathroom’s atmosphere.

Doomsday Soap (£6 / €7.50)

Featuring skin-exfoliating sand, not unlike what you’d find in the arid plains of desert in Asteroid City, this sweet and fruity-scented Doomsday Soap will leave your skin clean, refreshed, and perfectly smooth.

UFO Shower Jelly (£7 / €9)

Need some space? Lather up with UFO Shower Jelly. This saucer-shaped, citrus-scented shower jelly comes with a sweet and energising fragrance, brought into your orbit courtesy of brightening lime oil, as well as mood-lifting floral notes of neroli oil. Find inner peace with a little help from outer space.

“Asteroid City” Shower Gel (£16 / €19 for 290g)

Starring the zesty and elevating oils of grapefruit and bergamot alongside a sweet, playful, and nostalgic blackcurrant fragrance, this cleansing “Asteroid City” Shower Gel’s pastel-blue palette matches the sprawling desert skies found in the film.

The Lush X Asteroid City collection will be available in selected UK stores and online from Friday 16th June. For customers who want to be one of the first to get their hands on the product, Lush will be dropping a limited number on Thursday 15th June via the Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics app. Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City is in cinemas from Friday 23rd June.
