Lush Kingston debuts fresh store look for loyal local community
new-look store opening friday 17th november
Fresh, handmade cosmetics company, Lush, will be opening the doors to its new-look Kingston store at 11am on Friday 17th November 2023.
Lush has a long history in Kingston, with its fourth ever shop being opened there over 25 years ago – today, the cosmetics retailer has 886 shops across the globe (105 in the UK and Ireland).
The brand is paying homage to the history of its Kingston store by bringing back several exclusive cult-classic products from over the years, chosen by Kingston staff and customers.
Kingston will be the first store in the UK to sell these previously discontinued products, which include the iconic Space Girl Bath Bomb, Flying Fox Shower Gel Shimmy Shimmy Glitter Massage Bar and Needles and Cynthia Sylvia Stout Shampoo.
Feda Verduci, store manager at Lush Kingston, said: “We’re excited for all that the new shop will offer to our customers and staff. We have some very loyal customers, generations of Lush lovers coming to our store for their cosmetics, perfumes and gift shopping. The shop is a top destination for birthday celebrations and we can’t wait to host more Lush Party experiences in this beautiful new space!
As well as a wall of exclusive products from the past, the entire shop will be rejuvenated with a new layout, displays and signage, with plenty of room for gifts ahead of the 2023 festive season.
As part of Lush’s mission to ‘Leave the world Lusher than we found it’, the main focus of the design is repurposing furniture. Alongside some new furniture produced from ethically sourced and durable materials, existing furniture from the previous store will be repurposed and refinished to give the materials a new lease of life, reducing the environmental impact and any waste of the shop refit process.
Lush is committed to continuing investment in the high streets and providing innovation to showcase its famous 5* customer service experience.
The Kingston retail experience highlights iconic Lush inventions from the 1980s including the shampoo bar and the bath bomb, a wall of returning Lush classics, as well as an array of ethical gifts and Knot Wraps – Lush’s ethical alternative to single-use gift wrap.
Since establishing in 1995, Lush has been driven by innovation and its ethics. Creators of pioneering beauty products such as the fizzing bath bomb, shower jellies and solid shampoo bars, Lush places emphasis on fresh ingredients like organic fruits and vegetables. Lush fights tirelessly against animal testing and operates a thoroughly comprehensive Ethical Buying department, developing fair and direct trade initiatives. Lush leads the cosmetics industry in combating over-packaging by running public awareness campaigns and developing products that can be sold ‘naked’ to the consumer without any packaging.
Today Lush operates in 52 countries with over 850 shops, 38 websites shipping worldwide and a global network of native apps, broadcasting channels and digital communities in over 30 languages. For more information on Lush Kingston, please email [email protected]
