Introducing Renaissance Spa experience

Introducing Renaissance: a meditation on fragrance treatment

Meditation for those who don’t think they can meditate.

On Friday 14th February 2020, Lush will launch Renaissance (£75.00 for 40 mins), a meditation on fragrance that aims to provide clients with complete escape, transporting them to a different place, time and reality with guided meditation through the power of perfume and touch.

The new treatment follows the opening of the Lush Perfume Library in Florence – the birthplace of modern perfumery during the Renaissance which has greatly inspired both. Available in all Lush Spas across Europe including 8 in the UK, vouchers for the treatment will be available online from uk.lush.com and in Lush shops from Friday 7th February.

Renaissance features bodywork used in different cultures, traditions and rituals from allover the world.

Hannah Lammiman, Lush Spa treatment R&D

Lush therapists release emotions being held onto by the body through reflex points. Once cleared, the therapist delivers positive affirmations to help the client move forward, release and let go.

Perfume, prescribed according to individual need, is layered up to maintain a point of focus as the music guides the client deeper into meditation. Inspired by the art, culture and medicinal use of perfume in Renaissance Italy, this bespoke treatment calms the central nervous system as the therapist holds space for the client allowing the body to be brought back into balance. Further benefits include improved quality of sleep and clarity of thought and mind.

You can experience the new treatment at your local Lush Spa

Lush Perfume Libraries

Perfumery for Lush has always been a medium of expression in an artistic and unadulterated manner.

Alongside the launch of the Renaissance spa treatment on 7th February, Lush will also open Perfume Libraries within all global Lush Anchor shops. Lush Birmingham and Oxford Street will join the existing Perfume Libraries in Liverpool, Florence, Munich and Myeongdong.

Each Perfume Library will house a large collection of Lush fragrances including the ‘Florence Collection’, a new range of five perfumes previously only available exclusively at the Lush Perfume Library in Florence. Alongside the fragrances, Perfume Libraries will also host a book collection featuring titles on essential oils, aromatherapy, perfume history and regeneration. The literature on sale aims to share insights not only on the art of perfumery and its history, but offers customers a unique insight into the creative process of Lush’s own perfumery and expertise on the subject.

The Florence Collection

The Florence Collection will also be available in Lush Spa shops worldwide as part of their all year round collection.

Four of the fragrances are used in the new Renaissance treatment. The perfumes will also be available for a limited time only on lush.uk.com in 30ml sizes.

Sappho • £150 for 100ml Sophisticated Orris hugged by the warmth of vanilla and tonka and intertwined with the sensuality of carnal jasmine and a whisper of tobacco. Bittersweet and inescapable, this ode to a striking poetess, the Tenth Muse, will shake your senses and enchant your deep desires.

Nero • £125 for 100ml A classical portrait of the Princess of Nerola, her gloves delicately fragranced with the neroli that she’s thought to have named. Enter the Emperor Nero. Woody depths of petitgrain smoulder, and citrus notes of bergamot rise from the ashes, neglecting the burning city of Rome.

Confetti • £70 for 100ml The sugared almonds at an Italian wedding tell a story in three acts. Young love, the innocence of violet leaf. A sensual rose blooms as the relationship deepens, until the final chapter reveals the lasting comfort of sandalwood oil.

Frangipani • £70 for 100ml The legacy (or myth) of the Marquis of Frangipani: a delicate dusting of sweet almond used to fragrance gloves. Across the ocean, a flower bearing a similar scent had not yet been discovered, but would eventually inherit the Frangipani name. Fresh As • £50 for 100ml Grassy meadows and Siberian pines, the morning after heavy rain. Earthy orris serenely takes control of the urban landscape, leaving in its wake a renaissance floral garden.
