The fresh handmade cosmetics company has teamed up with female-owned North London independent, Lazy Oaf, to turn fans’ homes into the ultimate self care spaces, with a 17 piece collection across cosmetics, homeware and accessories.

Lush X Lazy Oaf will be available from Thursday 24th November in selected Lush shops and online at lush.com, as well as lazyoaf.com and in Lazy Oaf’s two London stores.

Lush X Lazy Oaf Showder, £15

Lazy Oaf’s signature Happy Sad and checkerboard patterns adorn classic Lush products including bath bombs, soaps and mega foamy bubble bars. The collaboration also sees the launch of a brand new fragrance; capturing the essence of Lazy Oaf’s East London origins is the Lush X Lazy Body Spray (£35), which smells like an east end laundrette, with puffs of tobacco lingering on low thread count sheets still warm from the dryer.

Speaking about the collaboration, Melody Morton, Concepts Creative Director at Lush, said:

“We’re so excited to announce our first ever brand-to-brand collaboration with independent fashion brand, Lazy Oaf.

“Both proud, British-born businesses, Lazy Oaf and Lush champion considerate, small-batch production and this limited edition collection is no different. We both like to do things a little differently to the rest of our respective industries, with ethical buying and transparent supply chains end to end.

“18 months in the making, this collection is packed full of cosy staples and self care essentials, encouraging our audiences to take time for themselves every day, rather than just on special occasions.”

About Lush

Since establishing over 27 years ago, Lush has been driven by innovation and its ethics. Creators of pioneering beauty products, one of Lush’s most well known creations is the bath bomb.  Invented in 1989 by Lush Co-Founder Mo Constantine in her garden shed, bath bombs have become a global sensation – all hand pressed in Lush’s own manufacturing sites across the world Lush sold over 40.5 million last year.

A beauty company with a campaigning heart, Lush is on a mission to create a product for every need and a cosmetic revolution to save the planet.  The ultimate goal is to leave the world Lusher than we found it.  Lush operates a strict policy against animal testing and lead the cosmetics industry in combating over-packaging by developing products that can be sold ‘naked’ to the consumer.  Today Lush operates in 49 countries with over 900 shops, 38 websites shipping worldwide and a global network of native apps, broadcasting channels and digital communities in over 30 languages. lush.com

Collaborations at Lush

“Collaborations aren’t new to us at Lush. Lush has carefully selected collaborations with charities and people historically, from mental health charity I Am Whole in 2020 to create a digital detox movement away from socials; a 7 year partnership with ARTHOUSE Unlimited for seasonal gift design; with Vivienne Westwood’s Climate Revolution in 2013 where 100% of profits went to supporting this issue; and in 2021 a B2B collaboration with ASOS.

As a global brand – that does it all in-house – sourcing the finest ethical ingredients, inventing, manufacturing and retailing, we can innovate unique products and experiences for every partnership. We continue to look forward to connecting with audiences around the world in new and unexpected ways.” – Annabelle Baker, Lush Brand & Marketing Director.

About Lazy Oaf:

Founded by Gemma Shiel from a North London Garage in 2001, Lazy Oaf is a design-led streetwear and lifestyle brand with a history of doing things their own way. Starting out with hand-printed T-shirts sold on a stall in East London, Lazy Oaf has now become an established independent brand, putting creativity, collaboration and community first. The brand has spent 20 years building a network of creatives and collaborators who have helped shape their product offering, taking inspiration from youth subcultures, streetwear, and nostalgia. Lazy Oaf don’t subscribe to the traditional ‘fashion calendar’, and aren’t interested in what’s trending – instead trusting their own creative instincts and prioritising design that reflects them and their community.

All Lazy Oaf garments are designed at their London studio a year ahead of launch, so that the design and product teams can take the time needed to develop and test each piece, and each piece is produced in limited quantities to reduce waste and ensure every Lazy Oaf item is unique and special.

The collaboration sees the exclusive return of a Lush classic from the archives, with two brand new ‘Showders’ in bespoke packaging inspired by a classic laundry detergent box that you inevitably spill all over the floor when trying to pour into the tiny drawer.

The Lush X Lazy Showder (£15) is a bubbling bath powder which creates softening suds; the Sleepy Showder is scented with snooze inducing lavender, whilst the Intergalactic edition has whiffs of musky cedarwood and invigorating peppermint.

Lush X Lazy Oaf Socks, £30 for pack of 3

The collab sees Lush’s first foray into the world of fashion; the two teams’ designers collaborated on eight bespoke clothing and lifestyle pieces, including pyjama top and bottoms (£75 and £65), white and blue checkerboard face cloths (£15 for 2), a hand towel (£18), a bath sheet (£40) and a wash bag (£20), all made in 100% organic cotton.

Emma Shepherd, Brand Manager at Lazy Oaf echoed that sentiment, saying: “Collaboration is a big part of Lazy Oaf’s brand ethos; we couldn’t be happier to be partnering on this exclusive collection with Lush. Aligning on our core values of responsible, intentional production, Lush have been incredible to collaborate with and we’re so excited to be their first ever brand-to-brand partner.

“The Lush x Lazy Self Service collection is the ultimate ‘laundry’ service for yourself; championing self care in a way that bucks the overly-sincere and serious tone that often dominates the wellness conversation.

“Embracing Lazy Oaf’s distinct and often disruptive approach to brand creative and communications, Lush have worked symbiotically with us not only on the product design, but also on bringing to life the creative universe that our collection exists in.”
