Through Lush Charity Pot
Celebrating 15 years of Charity Pot. Lush thanks customers for raising more than £65 Million for over 13,700 grassroots charities across the globe.
Created in 2007, Charity Pot hand and body lotion (from £5) raises money for small charities, campaigning groups and other good causes. 100% of the retail price paid by customers buying Charity Pot products (minus the government sales tax) is granted to grassroots organisations working for animal protection, human rights and the environment around the world.
In 2020 Lush released a packaging-free version, named Charity Pot Coin (£1.00), along with a fragrance named Grassroots (£50.00) – 100% of the retail price (minus the government sales tax) paid by customers for both these products also goes into the charity ‘pot’, to which grassroots organisations and groups can apply for funding.
In the last financial year alone, despite the challenges around the pandemic, over £3.4 million was donated globally. Internationally, Lush’s shops organised 152 Charity Pot shop events to support local grassroots causes. In the UK and Ireland over £625,000 was donated through 153 grants and 48 local Charity Pot shop events.
Over the last 15 years, Charity Pot has been sold in 42 countries raising more than £65 million in over 13,700 grants. Globally, these grants have gone towards supporting:
- Over 500 Animal Rights projects

Charity Pot grants provide targeted funding to small, grassroots groups. Almost all the groups funded by Charity Pot have an annual income of less than £250,000 (most are substantially less) and are run entirely or predominantly by volunteers.
These grants prioritise projects that aim to create long-term systemic change – because we feel it’s crucially important to fund projects that aim to prevent and address the root cause of the problem.
Charity Pot has sold over 7 million pots, and 1.5 million coins sold so far. With a skin-soothing blend of fresh Aloe gel and nourishing Moringa oil, Charity Pot has an abundance of positive benefits for the skin, as well as for the groups it supports.
This self-preserving hand and body lotion is made with materials sourced from a variety of projects, including Fair Trade, Colombian cocoa butter; geranium oil from Kenya and Fair Trade shea butter from the Ojoba Women’s Collective, Ghana.
