Lush x TMNT

Turtle Power for Bath and Shower!

This summer, Lush and Paramount Consumer Products launch a Turtle-y awesome limited edition product collection: Channel your inner hero in a half shell with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

Cowabunga, Lush Fans! This summer, Lush has teamed up with Paramount’s iconic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to deliver less plastic and more (vegan) pizza with an exclusive range of Turtle-y awesome limited-edition exclusive products for the bath, shower, body, and hair. Renowned for innovating packaging-free cosmetic items — such as bath bombs, soap, shampoo bars, and solid body scrub — Lush has designed the whole collection to shell-ebrate innovation that removes the need for single-use plastic and encourage shoppers to grab a slice of 100% naked products formulated to work just as well as their packaged counterparts (dare we say … even better?).

Get ready to embrace less plastic and more pizza with the new Lush x TMNT collection: available from July 1st exclusively via the Lush app, and from July 4th at Lush stores and Lush.com

In real life, turtles love Lush because of a commitment to helping keep waterways clear of excess waste and Lush loves the Turtles because of their commitment to fighting injustice and a shared love of (vegan) pizza.

Lush is thrilled to have been able to co-create this range of six new, fun, and immersive products (plus a pack of 3 exclusive face cloths) across bath, shower, and hair care to ensure multiple steps of your body care routine are covered, and to enable everyone to make small heroic moves to help the planet by using less single-use plastic in their daily life and beauty routines.

“We’re thrilled to once again partner with Lush on an exclusive collection, this time for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” said Rebecca Jenkins, VP, Consumer Products at Paramount. “Lush has created some truly unique products – with less single-use plastic – that thankfully, will leave you smelling much better than the Turtles’ sewer lair.”

With awareness of climate change at an all-time high, many of us have been ditching the bottle in favour of naked products. Lush has always championed solid products that require no plastic packaging. Mo Constantine (Lush Co-Founder & Inventor) invented many mainstream products we see across the cosmetics industry today, such as the bath bomb in 1989 and the shampoo bar in 1987, a brand-new invention that would revolutionise hair washing all over the world, produce beautiful barnets and save the planet too!

Since 2005, Lush Shampoo Bars have saved the use of nearly 180 million plastic bottles from landfill, which is estimated to be roughly 4500 tonnes of plastic avoided. This is the equivalent of over 5% of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch!* The benefits of stripping off the pot also save on transport: one shampoo bar is so much lighter and more compact than 3 bottles of shampoo, you would need 15 lorries full of liquid shampoo bottles to transport the equivalent number of washes as one lorry of shampoo bars!

Today, 43% of Lush’s core product range (excluding limited editions) can be taken home without packaging. So, whether you’re taking your first step away from the pump or whether you’re motivated to move over to a fully plastic-free routine – Lush has you covered.

“We are excited to continue our partnership with Paramount Consumer Products,” said Kalem Brinkworth, Creative Lead for Concepts and Collaborations at Lush. “In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Lush has created a special plastic free collection. It’s super important to us to ensure our customers are aware of the benefits of reducing their cosmetics packaging, so that they can make informed choices. We hope that Lush products can continue to provide enjoyable and easy ways to switch out plastic packaging this summer and beyond.”

From a fruity solid body scrub to a soothing shampoo bar, this summer get ready to hop on the party wagon after a long day of shelling out justice and feel good knowing the new Lush x TMNT collection helps to reduce plastic from polluting our waterways.

About the Lush x TMNT collection:

Peace, Love & Pizza bath bomb

It’s pizza time! Grab a slice and hop in the bath to power up your bathing. As the bath bomb fizzes and froths in swirls of purple and green, the bath melt topping made of organic mango and illipe butters melts to soften skin. Grab the soapperoni and lather up!

Green Machine bubble bar

Crumble a piece or the entire bar under running water and watch this Green Machine go! Fluffy bubbles rise over mean green waters as the power of violet leaf, rose and jasmine absolutes help keep your spirits up, no matter what life throws at you.

Turtle Power solid body scrub

When your skin is in need of a good scrub, grab Turtle Power and hop in the shower. Fine sea salt and bamboo stem extract exfoliate to revive and refresh skin, while organic mango and illipe butters leave you feeling soft and hydrated. A sweet and fruity blend of olibanum and bergamot oils leaves you gently scented and feeling human again.

Goongala shampoo bar

Fighting with your scalp? Goongala! is here to save the day. Fresh watercress infusion soothes the scalp while rosewood oil provides a powerful cleansing and balancing effect. Plus, lemongrass oil boosts shine and lends its uplifting fragrance. It’s what we imagine Casey Jones from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles uses to wash his long locks.

Krang shower jelly

A fruity shower with this jiggly jelly is a real no-brainer. Fruity davana oil blends with uplifting bergamot and comforting vanilla absolute for a sweet scent that brings you back down to earth. Carrageenan extract and Irish moss infusion make this jelly the indisputable ruler of skin-softening soaps.

Four Brothers bath bomb

It’s time for some lean, mean, green bathing! Watch this bath bomb froth and fizz, turning the water green and releasing a zesty lemongrass scent that’ll make you want to say Cowabunga! Inside each bath bomb you’ll find a soap surprise in the shape of the Ninja Turtles’ favourite things. Collect all four brothers to find them all!
