NO CONSENT FOR FRACKING

LUSH PULL ANTI-FRACKING CAMPAIGN AFTER GOVERNMENT U-TURN BUT STAND READY TO REIGNITE IT IF THEY BACKTRACK

Lush were just about to launch a nationwide campaign on Tues 2nd Nov in 80 of their highstreet stores with windows reading “No consent for fracking”, with staff dressed in boiler suits and hard hats drawing attention to this dirty and dangerous practice.

As a result of the announcement from Downing Street, that the hard fought for moratorium on fracking (overturned by Liz Truss and Jacob Rees-Mogg) will be reinstated, Lush will be pulling their campaign. However, they pledge that should fracking ever be allowed to return, so will their campaign against it.

We are very pleased that the government appears to have seen sense and reinstated the ban on the dirty and dangerous practice of fracking.
However, as the last few months have shown, it seems we can’t trust the current government to stick to their word, so we will be keeping a very close eye and should this, or the next cohort, allow fracking back on these shores we will be ready to stand once again with communities all over the country.

Hilary Jones, Lush Ethics Director

Lush have a long history of working with anti-fracking groups, running in-store campaigns and, since 2015, have donated £740k to local groups opposing fracking in their communities.
