Lush opens biggest shop in Ireland in Dundrum Town Centre
On Friday 11th November at 12pm, fresh handmade cosmetics brand Lush will open the largest Lush shop in Ireland in Dundrum Town Centre with a retail space of 2,311 sq ft creating 25 new jobs.
During the opening day, Lush Dundrum customers will also have the opportunity to press some of Lush’s best selling bath bombs alongside other walk in activities every 30 minutes starting at 1pm until 8pm.
“The whole team is brimming with excitement to introduce the largest Irish Lush to a shiny new location at Dundrum Town Centre, just in time to spread Christmas joy to all of our lovely new customers and local community! We are buzzing to get the ball rolling in November and finally welcome everyone in, alongside getting hands on with Lush parties, skincare chats and all things soap!”
– Ciara Duffy, Shop Manager, Lush Dundrum.
Ciara was born in Ireland and has been working for Lush in Ireland since 2014.
Continuing to invest in Ireland
Lush is committed to continuing investment in the high streets and providing innovation to showcase the 5* customer service experience. In 2022 Lush is continuing its retail investment of approximately £7.6m for new shops, relocations and refits across the UK&I and Europe.
The Dundrum retail experience highlights categories of iconic Lush inventions from the 1980s including the shampoo bar and the bath bomb, as well as a section with an array of ethical gifts and Knot Wraps. Services, such as bespoke Lush skincare consultations or booking a popular Lush Party will be available in the shop.
“We’ve been working towards bringing Lush to the people of Dundrum for quite some time, and I’m so thrilled that we’re finally starting to put our Irish expansion plans into motion. The new store, as our biggest in Ireland, will bring people together through spaces to create perfect, personalised gifts for loved ones, throwing a party with friends or meeting our wonderful store team.
As the largest shopping centre on the island with such a wide variety of retail and leisure, Dundrum Town Centre is an ideal place for the biggest Lush in the country. Being able to offer visitors to the centre more choice in ethical cosmetics, private party experiences, and of course – top class customer service, we hope will add further to the expansive offering in Dundrum. Our three existing stores in Ireland have already generated a cult following in Dublin and Cork, and this further investment will bring Lush to more customers in an accessible, exciting new location – before plans to expand throughout all major retail destinations in Ireland within five years.”
– Adam Barnes, UK&I Retailer, based in Ireland
After the reopening with a new look of Dublin’s Lush Grafton Street shop and following the launch of the dedicated Lush website and app in Ireland last year, the Dundrum shop opening will be the biggest investment of £440,000 for Lush in Ireland this year. As Ireland’s largest shopping centre, Dundrum Town Centre prides itself on offering an engaging and exciting range of retail and leisure options.
Reducing, Reusing, Recycling
As part of Lush’s mission to ‘Leave the world Lusher than we found it’, the main focus of the design is repurposing furniture. Alongside some new furniture produced from ethically sourced and durable materials, existing pine furniture from other stores will be repurposed and refinished to give the materials a new lease of life. This is reducing the environmental impact and any waste of the shop refit process. For this project, the Lush Shop and Space Planning team worked with the Dublin-based Studio 3 Architecture team as well as Newry-based Grant Fit Out as the main contractor.
When fitting their shops, Lush utilise the same values they do when sourcing ingredients for their products:
“At Lush we celebrate the stories that make us and our products and we wanted to create a place customers could explore and indulge in these stories, as well as a place to create their own ones.”
– Gui Figueiredo, Lush Shop and Space Planning
Lush Poetry Bath Bomb Workshops (walk-in)
To celebrate the grand opening of Lush Dundrum, customers will also have the opportunity to press and personalise some of Lush’s best selling bath bombs. Inspired by Lush’s Bathing in Poetry range, to welcome the words and fragrance to both lift your mood and inspire meaning and magic, customers will have a chance to personalise their bath bomb with an insert that contains a personal message or poem that they can pass forward.
Friday, 11th November, 1-8pm starting every 30 minutes
Saturday, 12th November, 11am-7pm starting every 30 minutes
Sunday, 13th November 11am-7pm starting every 30 minutes
Since Lush Co-founder, Mo Constantine invented the bath bomb over 30 years ago, Lush has always been about advocating wellbeing, “We believe in long candlelit baths, sharing showers, massage, and filling the world with perfume” is part of Lush’s mission statement and at the core of Lush’s very purpose as a business.
Bring It Back
Lush Dundrum is not only looking forward to welcoming their customers, but also welcoming their plastic packaging back! As part of Lush’s mission to ‘Leave the world Lusher than we found it’, Lush shops are inviting customers to bring back any full-sized Lush plastic packaging to their local Lush shop to be recycled as part of their fresh new packaging returns scheme, Bring It Back.
For each plastic Lush item returned, customers will receive a 50c deposit to spend on their Lush basket that day.
