Bigger and better Lush York store opening in new location after 24 years
On Friday, 22nd November 2024 at 12pm, fresh handmade cosmetics brand Lush will reveal the new look of the York store with a relocation on the same street, to 52 Coney Street. The new store is 100 sqm, making it more than 35% larger than the previous location which Lush resided in for 24 years.
During the opening day Lush fans need to be quick, as the first 100 customers will be gifted a welcome surprise of Lush pampering products to celebrate the expansion. There will also be free product-making workshops on opening day and Saturday 23rd November between 12-4pm (while stocks last), for customers to make their very own bath bomb to take home.
Store Manager, Sarah Baker, has worked for the fresh, handmade cosmetics brand for seven years and is excited to welcome York customers to the brand new space in time for Christmas shopping.
“With more space comes more products and we’re thrilled to be open and raring to go at our favourite (and busiest) time of the year. We can’t wait to welcome our customers so they can experience all the magic that Lush York has to offer.”, said Sarah Baker, Lush York Store Manager.
Sarah has taken the role of store manager while previous manager, Annabelle Hall, has been on maternity leave, and this power duo are ready to make history together by opening the brand new Lush York store after staying in the previous unit for 24 years.
“Both Annabelle and I started at Lush York as seasonal sales assistants many moons ago. Like others, we came to York for university and never left. This special city filled with history and character captures the hearts of all its visitors.
“The past 24 years has seen countless wonderful customers through our door, parties and product making workshops held, campaigns to leave the world Lusher than we found it and many, many bath bombs. We are proud to be part of York’s retail landscape and excited to continue offering fresh handmade treats in our brand new store,” said Sarah.
The larger space means Lush’s fully customisable parties just got even bigger! With a recent new concept and a new selection of products to make, Lush parties include a range of activities to choose from, perfect for celebrating all occasions. At £25 per person, each event is totally unique and fully customisable, with the host choosing from a range of activities during a consultation to build their perfect party, including a gift for the party’s VIP and goody bags for each attendee.
“Whether it’s a birthday, pre wedding celebration, staff party or just a get together with friends, Lush York is the place to celebrate. For a taste of these experiences, look out for our popular bath bomb making workshops in the new year,” said Sarah.
Customers can also indulge in unique skincare consultations, get hands-on with Lush’s sustainable makeup range, and explore the retro collection featuring nostalgic returning favourites.
The new store will be opening in time for Christmas for shoppers to get their hands on their favourite festive items, including the best-selling Snow Fairy collection. In the 2023 festive period, Lush produced and sold over 800,000 bottles of the pink magic shower gel in the UK alone!
Lush York is the perfect local destination for all festive gift shopping, with bespoke fragrance consultations on offer and an opportunity for customers to build their own holiday gift, they can enjoy a unique retail experience like no other. Whether customers are looking for a gift for a loved one or treating themselves with stocking up their cosmetic essentials, The Lush York retail experience highlights Lush’s iconic invention from the 1980s, the bath bomb, as well as a section with an array of ethical gifts and Knot Wraps.
