Lush product donations for charity
At Lush, we never like to see anything go to waste, and we love to see our fresh products used to care for the wellbeing of activists and vulnerable communities. We have a policy that ensures our handmade products stay fresh, and therefore we regularly donate surplus products to various grassroots organisations who are supporting their communities with direct services.
These places include (to name a few!) homeless shelters, refugee support services, hospices, care homes, women’s shelters and other groups that provide services for vulnerable or marginalised people of all backgrounds. As much as we would love to donate to everyone who gets in touch, we receive many requests for donations and are limited by the amount of stock we have available. For this reason, we cannot donate items that would be used for fundraising, for prizes, nor for goodie bags.
We don’t offer products for resale because we prefer to donate money directly through our Lush Giving Products and Prizes. You can find out more about Lush Giving here.
In the UK&I, product donations are managed by individual Lush shops. You can visit your local shop and ask if there is any stock they’re able to donate. Find your local shop here.

Please note that donated products must be used directly by service users and cannot be used for fundraising, raffle prizes, gifts or handouts for supporters, and must not be sold on. Please do not apply for product donations if you intend to sell the products in person or on a reselling website.
You can apply for product donations if you work with a charitable or community-organised service provider that supports vulnerable people who have little or no access to toiletries or wellbeing and care products. This includes homeless shelters, refuges, some healthcare providers, refugee shelters, and more. We can donate products to small grassroots charities and community groups that provide wellbeing and sensory activities. We can also donate to small campaign groups that are working in the areas of human rights, animal rights and environmental protection.
We cannot donate to groups that:
- Promote or support violence, aggression, prejudice, oppression or any infringement on human rights.
- Are involved in cruelty or subjugation of animals, including testing on animals for research or using animals for human gain, including the use of animals in entertainment, animal husbandry and therapy.
- Influence others to change or adopt their religious beliefs, or exclude others based on religious practice.
- Are connected to political parties, specific endorsements, political rallies or otherwise partisan in their work.
- Military related causes including veteran support groups.
- Are not making the effort to be environmentally responsible.
- Are schools, university programs, sponsored walks/runs/sporting events or fundraising initiatives.
- Are a for-profit organisation such as a business or social enterprise.
- Will sell the product donations.
Product donations are organised through Lush shops. Please contact your local shop in order to request a donation. Find your nearest shop here.

We will most frequently donate all the surplus stock we have, such as shower gels, soap, shampoo bars, bath bombs and creams. However, all donations are subject to availability.
Yes, all plastic packaging counts toward the Bring it Back scheme! If groups, charities or individuals have a Lush store nearby, we would like to encourage them to return their empty and clean plastic packaging to the store. To learn more about the scheme, what packaging qualifies and what you can receive in return, head over to our T’s & C’s.
Products donated may not be within the dates of Lush’s freshness policy, so cannot be sold in Lush shops. However, all products will be within the ‘use before’ date which, on packaged products, you can find on a sticker on the side or bottom of the packaging. For all products, we encourage you to use or distribute the products as soon as possible so service users can benefit from the fresh effects!
We value the hard work that grassroots organisations do every day to provide support and will always do our best to help in any way we can.
